Man in court accused of trying to incite underage girl for sex at Biddulph

A BIRMINGHAM man has appeared in court charged with allegedly trying to contact a girl in Biddulph for sexual purposes.

Nazumal Islam, 32, was arrested by police at an address in the town on Saturday night following information from members of the public. No child was present at the location.

He appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, charged with attempting to incite a girl under 15 to engage in sexual activity and enaging in sexual communication with a child.

Detective Inspector Zoe Kelsall, of Staffordshire Police Criminal Investigation Department, said: “We would encourage anyone who has information about suspected child abuse to contact the police. 
People are reminded not to take matters into their own hands or do anything that could hinder or jeopardise such investigations. 
Acts of retaliation towards family members or workplaces will also not be tolerated and we will take swift and appropriate action.”
