Wednesday Sport: Blues wind down with a trip to Spalding

LEEK Town manager will be demanding more of the same when his side travel to play Spalding United this Saturday.

The Blues atoned for recent disappointments with a 1-0 victory at Newcastle Town on Monday night, where Sam Hall netted the winner in the 85th minute.

Despite gaining all three points, Leek remain in seventh spot in Division One of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, three points short of the play-off places and with just two games to play.

LEEK Cricket Club are seeking a new first team scorer in the Davanti Tyres North Staffs and South Cheshire League Premier Division.

It is a paid job and the successful applicant will be required to attend both home and away games this season, which starts on Saturday, September 28.
