Bassett’s footballers are gaining sweet reward for their endeavours

CHARLIE Bassett’s are enjoying an amazing rewarding first season as members of the City Traders League.

The newly-formed Dilhorne pub team beat Walsall-based Cresswell Wanderers in the Staffs FA Sam Kimberley Trophy final at Brocton FC, in Stafford last Thursday night.

Goals from Christos Georgiou (10 mins) and Jordan Heath (41 mins) secured them a famous victory in the county-wide competition..

The team added more silverware to their trophy cabinet on Sunday when they lifted the City Traders League Premier Division Cup.

They beat Ossma Blurton 4-1 in the final, played at Newcastle Town FC, with goals from Adam Hyland (2), Oliver Griffiths and James Tune.

Bassett’s go in search of more cup success this Sunday when they take on Holditch Club in the Holland Memorial Cup Final at Newcastle Town FC (11am).
