This is the second year of ‘dressing’ the well with 22 individual boards from groups and organisations around the village. The well will stay decorated until the end of August so that the many hundreds of visitors to Cheddleton will be able to enjoy it during the summer.
Come and join us as we thank God for the gift of water and all that it brings to our lives.
OPEN GARDENS and SCARECROW HUNT
Throughout the village of Cheddleton
Saturday and Sunday 21st & 22nd July 2-6pm both days
Entry to gardens £3.50 per person – accompanied children under 16 years free
Now in its 24th year Cheddleton Open Gardens welcomes three new gardens and two that are returning after a couple of years off, along with regular gardens and attractions the programme showcases nineteen entries this year. Entry to the gardens is by programme, available pre-event from Bargain Booze at The Avenue and The Old School Tea Rooms, Hollow Lane at £3.50 per person and over the weekend at participating gardens. Refreshments are on sale at some gardens as are Raffle Tickets.
The Scarecrow Hunt takes place during the Open Gardens weekend, you can buy a ‘hunt’ form for £1 from any of the gardens or from St Edward’s Church, Hollow Lane, see how many you can find and if you can guess what they are – the theme for this year is ‘Myths and Monsters’. Many of the scarecrows will be displayed during the week before, see if you can spot any as you drive [carefully] through our beautiful village.
