THE popular annual Beer Festival at Leek Town Football Club is fast approaching.
The organisers have assembled a good selection of real ale, craft ciders and lager for consumption for festival-goers to Harrison Park.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 26, when Blues entertain League Two Crewe Alexandra as part of the club’s pre-season friendly campaign.
However the fun really starts the following night when the Blues Bar Quiz is back with a beer festival themed quiz.
The last quiz attracted more than 15 teams so the organisers are hoping for a similar number. The entry fee is £20 for a team of four which includes a free sampler and a selection of gourmet bar snacks.
Saturday (July 28) is Community Day, at which the club will celebrate its recent award as Community Kings of the NPL.
This will include a small junior tournament, a Wildcat Certificate Presentation and Leek Ladies vs Sandbach Ladies. There will also be a disco in the Blues Bar.
The end of the festival is Cider Sunday when the final of Leek Post Charity Shield will take place, followed by the popular game between Leek veteran players. There will also be hot food and live music in the Blues Bar.
