Arsonists have caused hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage to farm buildings and machinery, also lost in the blaze was bags of animal feeds, seeds and bales of hay and straw.
The farmer who managed the land also lost his collection of vintage ploughs and tractors. Damage was also done the the hay cutter as the heat melted the side s and roof, in fact the heat was so intense that it melted the stanchions that held the barn together.
All the cattle was freed from the pens just in time to escape the blaze, Todd the farm dog who was in the back shed, although he was suffering from the heat was later recovering at home and is now fine.
