Leek Town have chance to bring down the high-flying Linnets

LEEK Town have a chance to gain a quick revenge over Runcorn Linnets when the two teams clash in the Integro League Cup second round at Harrison Park tonight (Nov 20), kick off 7.45pm.

The Linnets recently gained a 1-0 home victory over Blues to cement their position as leaders of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League West Division.

A win would therefore be sweet for Blues as well helping to quickly bury their disappointment at losing 3-2 away to Colne in the league at the weekend – their fourth defeat in five games.

The Linnets have since relinquished top spot to Atherton Collieries – another of Blues recent 1-0 conquerors – but have strengthened their squad with two new signings, midfielder Liam Morris, 24, from Litherland REMYCA, and central defender Jack Hinnigan, 23, from Warrington Town.
