This year marks the 35th staging of the pudding race, which is organised organised by retired Cheddleton farmer Stan Winterton, who continues to compete for Trentham RC in his 70s.
Stan will again have to give his own race a miss because of his busy administrative role on the day.
Saturday’s race starts at 2pm preceded by two-mile fun run (1.40pm) for family running enthusiasts.
