Champagne performance from fizzing Blues Babes five-goal striker Chantelle

CHANTELLE Gallagher was the toast of Leek Town Ladies after scoring five times in their 9-1 defeat of Florence on Sunday..

The emphatic victory maintained Blues Babes 100 per cent record in Division One North of the West Midlands Region Women’s League.

Leek’s eleven straight wins keep them six points clear at the top of the table above nearest title challengers Stoke City Development.

Stoke will be seeking to gain revenge for a 3-2 defeat at Harrison Park earlier in the season when the two teams meet at Community Drive, Smallthorne, on Sunday, February 3.

Leek’s other scorers  in their demolition job on Florence were Bethany Cottrell, Lacey May Smith,  Rehanne Mellor and Katie Gibbons.

Rhian Morris (pictured) was named Leek’s player-of-the-match.
