Cheadle ladies step up in Staffordshire annual cross-country championships

JENNY Dalkins was Cheadle Running Club’s highest place women’s finisher in the 2019 Staffordshire Cross-Country Championships, which were staged at Stafford Common on Saturday.

She finished 21st in a time of 22:42 behind race winner Louise Dawson (City of Stoke AC) who clocked 20:57.

Gareth Knapper was the first Cheadle runner to cross  the finishing line in the men’s race, recording 33:37, and was followed in by 51 Carl Astley 34:42, 55 Glyn Pattinson 35:07, 70 Charlie Cox 36:31 and Ken Shenton 106 43:45. The race was won by Alex Brecker (City of Stoke AC) in 27:41.
