Rejected Jordan has last laugh as rising young Ram

DERBY County’s rising young star Jordan Brown made a happy return to the club that didn’t consider him good enough today – Stoke City.

The 17 year old, from Cresswell, near Blythe Bridge, was in the Rams U18’s team that beat Stoke U18s 3-2, at the Clayton Wood training ground, to go three points clear at the top of Premier League U18s

Brown, who was spotted by Stoke playing for Cheadle SMU juniors and inducted into the club’s academy, hasn’t looked back since being shown the door by the Potters two years ago, after being considered as “not good enough” to make the grade.

The teenager has made rapid progress to the Rams U23s side and now trains with Derby’s first team squad under the watchful eye of Frank Lampard.

The Rams have an outstanding youth set-up, as was highlighted today, when the U18’s came back from 2-1 down with 10 minutes to go to beat Stoke 3-2.

“Showed our character to come back from 2-1 down and win the game,” said Jordan.
