League title now looks beyond CSOB’s reach but they can still win a prized trophy or two

WITH the Staffordshire County Senior League Premier Division title now surely beyond Leek CSOB’s reach, they at least have a chance of still winning a trophy or two – the Staffs FA Senior Vase and the Leek Cup.
Winning the Vase will entail Old Boys having to overcome Premier Division champions-elect, Silverdale Athletic, who have beaten CSOB twice already in the league this season.
The Vase final will be staged at the Stafford Rangers FC ground on Monday, April 8, kick off 7.30pm.
CSOB begin winding down their league season at home to Tunstall Town tomorrow (March 28) night, kick off 7.30pm.
They then face Foley Meir at home on Wednesday, April 3 before bringing the curtain down away to Eastwood Hanley on Saturday, April 20.
Silverdale have completed their league programme on 68 points and though CSOB could go level by winning all three of their remaining fixtures, they would need to score 23 goals without conceding to pip them for the title.
This Saturday, CSOB take a break from action to take on County League Division One champions Audley at home in the Leek Cup semi-finals (2.30pm). The winners will face Alsager Town or Hanley Town in the final.
