Churnet Valley lift Staffs FA Sunday Challenge Cup

HEARTY congratulations to Churnet Valley on lifting the Staffs FA Sunday Challenge Cup.
The Uttoxeter and District League Division One leaders beat Chesterton Grange Youth Club 5-2 in the final played at Stone Dominoes Wellbeing Park at Yarnfield.
Valley’s Jack Hassall (2), Macauley Rowe, Paul Hughes and Dan Harper scored the goals that beat their Potteries and District League Division One opponents.
It was a particularly memorable night for Rowe who created the opening for Hassall’s second goal and then set up Hughes to score.
Valley slipped up in their bid to bid to get their hands on more silverware this season, when they lost their Ken Green Memorial Trophy semi-final clash with JCB Lakeside 7-6 on penalties. The scores were level at 2-2 at the end of playing time.
