You can escape from reality this Easter with a trip on the Churnet Valley Railway

THERE’S a chance to take a break from reality with a trip to the Churnet Valley Railway (CVR) in the Staffordshire Moorlands this Easter.
The heritage railway will be bringing to life the beloved literature classic Alice in Wlderland with The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
Specially decorated trains will be running through the scenic countryside between the villages of Cheddleton and Froghall.
A CVR spokesman said: “Once on board [the train] you can enjoy a range of themed treats as you discover a tea party that will delight all the family.
“Much-loved characters Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit will be strolling through the train to talk to all the children, parents and grandparents. You can relax with a warming hot drink while the children enjoy a soft drink followed by a selection of delicious cakes.
“But don’t get too comfortable as the Queen of Hearts is out on her Royal Train to inspect her subjects so behave or it will be “Off with your head.”
Passengers can take part in the Humpty Dumpty Easter Egg Hunt and keep an eye out through the window of the train to find the clues and solve the puzzles of where Humpty Dumpty has hidden the March Hare …
The train trip lasts approximately one hour. Passengers can only leave the train from their originating station, where there will be activities to take part in both before and after your booked journey.
