Cup win would help compensate for Old Boys frustrating end to the season

LEEK CSOB will be hoping for a change of fortune when they face Alsager Town reserves in the Leek Cup final, at Hanley Town FC, on Friday night (April 26), kick off 7.30pm.

Old Boys have beaten Alsager twice in the Staffs County Senior League Premier Division this season, winning 2-0 at home and away.
A win would help make up for Old Boys disappointment at losing in the recent League Challenge Cup and Staffs FA Vase finals.
The team has also had to settle for runners-up to Silverdale Athletic in the league, but nonethess enjoyed an excellent season under the guidance of player manager Sam Pettitt.
Old Boys produced a good peformance to see off County League Division One champions Audley in the semi-finals of the Leek Cup, while Alsager scraped through 1-0 at home to Hanley Town reserves.
The Hanley Town ground is on Abbey Lane, Abbey Hulton ST2 8AJ.
