Pointon Park invited to stage cup final

Pointon Park which was bequeathed to the local community by the late John Pointon.

POINTON Park, Cheddleton gets to stage the Leek and District Sunday League Subsidiary Cup Final tomorrow night (May 3).
Waterhouses will face Leek pub team Dyers Arms at the impressive home of Staffordshire County Senior League club Leek CSOB (7pm).
Waterhouses were emphatic 4-0 winners against Bulls Head in their semi-final, but Dyers clash with Vale Hoppers went into extra-time and ended in a close 2-1 victory.
Kieran Millward gave Dyers a seventh minute lead , but Gary Barnes levelled from the penalty spot three minutes from the end of normal time. Adam Stubbs settled it for Dyers early in extra-time.
Goals from Adam Taylor (2), Martin Hudson and Ryan Sillito saw Waterhouses comfortably through to the final.
Leek pub team Prince of Wales have been crowned league champions after wins againat Buxton Stags and Vale Hoppers.
