Animal welfare society is staging a fundraising sale to support its work of rehoming stray cats and dogs

CHEADLE Animal Welfare Society is staging a fundraising sale in the town’s Guild Hall this Saturday (11am until 1pm).
The charity, which was founded in 1968, is run entirely by a small group of volunteers.
It relies solely on the generosity of the public to continue its work of rehoming stray and abandoned cats and dogs.
Money is needed for not only the upkeep of the animals before they are rehomed, but also to meet veterinary fees .
All incoming animals are checked over by a vet and vaccinated, and wherever possible, the animals are also neutered prior to being rehomed, as well as bering microchipped in case they go missung in the future.
Items up for grabs at Saturday’s sale include books, jewellery, handbags, scarves, and shoes, together with groceries and cakes.
Refreshments will also be available.
