Team Candlish head north for Perth

THREE horses from trainer Jennie Candlish’s Staffordshire Moorlands stables have made the long trip north into Scotland to compete at Perth Races today (July 14).
Sleepy Haven is entered in the 3.15 3m handicap hurdle and The Flyingportrait tackles a 2m handicap chase at 3.50, both ridden by leading northern jockey Brian Hughes.
Tom Dowson will partner Outcrop in the meeting’s concluding race at 5.35, a 2m conditional jockeys handicap hurdle.
Team Candlish will be keeping their fingers crossed that the 600-mile round trip from the Basford Grange yard, near Leek, has something to show for their marathon journey.
