HORSERACING returns to Uttoxeter’s East Staffordshire National Hunt course this afternoon (July 17).

The seven-race card is being sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent commercial waste recycling company H Brown & Son.
Racing gets underway with a conditional jockeys hurdle over 2m at 2.20pm and finishes at 5.20pm with a 2m 4f maiden hurdle.
Staffordshire Moorlands trainer Jennie Candlish has Mullinavat entered in the 2m 4f handicap chase at 4.20.
The 10-year-old gelding was brought over from Ireland to join the Candlish stables at Basford Grange, near Leek, and has since made two appearances at Stratford, over hurdles and the bigger obstacles, but without yet claiming any prize money.
However, Mullinavat won three races in Ireland towards the end of 2017, over both fences and hurdles, at Thurles and Tramore, so obviously has potential.
Team Candlish have sent out three winners in the last 30 days and has also five horses placed: three second and two third.

The next meeting at Uttoxeter is Blossom Hill Ladies day on Friday, July 26, when Martin Kemp will be providing after-race entertainment.
