It’s show time again in Leek

LEEK & District Show returns to Birchall Playing Fields on the edge of town this Saturday (July 27).
The popular annual agriculture show has been a prominent fixture on the local social calendar for over 50 years
This family-themed colourful event is run by a dedicated team of volunteers,who strive to ensure that there is plenty for everyone to see and do on the day,
The judging of livestock remembers ever-popular with the thousands of visitors who support the show each year.
There are attle and sheep competitions – including categories for rare breeds and junior handling classes -, as well as classes for goats, working horses, show horses and ponies, poultry and pets.
Horticulture, flower design and the WI are also on display, together with the popular craft marquees where both professional and local crafters display their wares and demonstrate their skills.
There is always a host of entertainment and attractions in the main ring and around the showground, including many trade stands and marquees hosted by community groups and organisations from throughout the local area.
The main ring entertainment this year will include the Stannage International Stunt team and the Welsh Axemen.
